Rescue Me ID: 14-07-29-00045Maya (female)

Pharaoh Hound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Although we are not sure what kind of breed Maya is, we know that Maya is one the most gentle, appreciative, and gentle dogs we have ever met. Maya gets along with every dog she meets and she is great with toddlers, too. Maya LOVES humans. She is a snuggle bug who enjoys cuddling and sometimes gently places her paws into your lap to ask:'Could you please pet me?' Her fur is super soft, which makes petting her enjoyable for both - her and you :) Maya has the sweetest look in her face and her eyes are warm and loving. Maya is submissive to other dogs and all humans and although she has lots of energy, she is not hyper. Maya has lived in a ... (Read More)foster home with two other dogs (one is a Yorkie, the other one a large Vizsla-mix) and she has spent time in another foster home with 5 other dogs. Maya integrated nicely in both packs and enjoyed the large home but also did well in a small apartment. Maya loves water - she enjoys hopping in and out of an oversized kiddie-pool :) Maya is a REALLY good girl - she is pretty much a perfect dog. She is good around food, good around other dogs, good with kids, good inside small apartments as well as large homes. She is young, pretty, gentle, well-mannered, potty-trained, spayed, micro-chipped, vaccinated and in perfect health. Maya would make a great addition to any family. Rescue Me ID: 14-07-10-00213Nala (female)

Pharaoh Hound Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi all! My name is Nala and I am approximately 1-2 years young and am looking for my forever home! I was recently dumped on the side of the road by my former owner but was luckily saved from being hit by a car by a Good Samaritan. I was extremely scared and timid at first, but I have opened up since I now know that I am safe. I have been staying with the nice people who found me, but I really need a forever home of my own! I am super sweet and would make a great addition to any family! I recently went to the vet and got all my shots and a microchip! I am also heartworm negative! Yay! I need to gain a few more pound before I can be spayed, ... (Read More)but that surgery will be done and paid for before I go to my forever home, so no need to worry about that! The vet says I am for sure a Pharaoh Hound mix...look at my ears! As far as what else I'm mixed with, well we really don't know. However I am a 'low rider' (short legs), so its probably a smaller breed. I am only about 1 1/2 feet off the ground, but I am super cute that way! I love all humans and other dogs! I haven't met a cat yet but it shouldn't be a problem! I would love a home with a fenced in yard to run around in, but its not a requirement. I would do fine in an apartment or condo, so long as I am exercised regularly. I would do great in an active home and would be a great walking/jogging partner! I am GREAT on a leash. I am also 100% house broken and crate trained. No accidents in the house for this girl! I really am the PERFECT dog for any family! Would you like to meet me? I sure hope so! Please respond to this post if you would like to set up a meet n greet! SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY! A home check is required for adoption. I hope you will consider opening up your heart and home for me!! Love, Nala :) (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-22-00639Dreamer (female)

Pharaoh Hound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Dreamer is a small (about 30-35 pounds) delicate girl of unknown breed. Her delicate features remind of a pharoah hound, but really not sure what breed mix she is. Most of the time she gets along well with our other foster dogs, but occasionally she does something to annoy them. She would probably prefer to be an only dog. She is crate trained and house trained; comes when called and wants to please her person/people. Cannot recall the rescue group adoption fee, but will update this post when known.

Pharaoh Hounds are very well-mannered and affectionate, especially with children. Pharaoh Hounds are often aloof with strangers. Pharaoh Hounds can be socialized to get along with most other dogs, but males may have dominance issues. Pharaoh Hounds should not be around small pets other than dogs because of their hunting and chasing instincts. This breed can live in an apartment with enough exercise and should always be taken out on a leash. Fences should be very tall.
